Readily Rememberable

 

 What is the legal nurse consultant’s most time consuming activity?  You guessed it; Marketing, Marketing, and more Marketing. Cases don’t just come to you.  As an active LNC, you must be readily rememberable to your attorney client. 

Past Performers are rememberable.  So are big names.  We all know a few LNC instructor types.  There are a few rememberable service names like “Find Legal Nurse Consultant”, HgExperts”, and “NNBA" and "Legal Nurse.” 

How will you as an individual become rememberable?  You guessed it again!  Marketing, Marketing and more Marketing.     

·         Business Card?  Good if placed were the attorney can find it.

·         Calendars at Christmas?  Better than a business card but expensive.

·         Fliers – Brochures?  Good as an introduction

·         Attorney office visit?  Okay to try to get your foot in the door – might visit receptionist or secretary.

 So, how can you become rememberable? How about internet advertising?   You will need a website but then, you need to market the website.  There are many, many LNC websites listed in AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Google and all of their services.  Okay, you can purchase a web site or a web page for a considerable sum and then have the site optimized frequently as search engines change their criteria. You must then publish the web site.  Your Search Engine Optimizer or web page designer can publish for you.

Is there a problem?  Of course, search criteria changes frequently and it takes a very long time to work to the front pages, pages one through fifteen tops.  People searching for LNCs will traverse more search pages than some other types of listings but the closer you get to page one, the more likely you will be noticed.

The Sponsored Search listings are a possible but expensive option.  Each click will cost you $1.50 to $6.00 and up for Page one and two listings 

So, how do you market?  How do you become rememberable?  Try “Favorites” on your computer.  With each marketing effort, ask the party to place you in their “Favorites”. 

Place your web address and email address on your business card; also include "Place in your online Favorites List..  Make sure you include “Place in your Favorites List”, your web address and email address are on every piece of advertising that you produce.  Pass out your literature or business card: Say, “Hello, here’s my business card.  Would you please place my email address in your computer “Favorites List?” 

Why?  The computer is not placed in a drawer or thrown away or misplaced.  Again, ask  your attorney to place you in the “Favorites List”.

This brings us back to your web presence, linking your attorney-client to your web address is a wonderfully effective idea.

How big and expensive does this web presence need to be?   You can have 10 pages at a very high price with a lot of advertising or go inexpensive but still effective.  But, one page can do it all.

One more must:  Check your email frequently.  Some responders to this newsletter do not click in until two to three weeks after the newsletter is published.  If that is an indication of how frequently email is checked, you could miss a case.
